Innovation For Gully Traps
The EcoGuys Gully Trap Leak Proof Lid (LPL) is an injection moulded, uPVC product that fits over existing gully traps. The LPL Standard Unit is designed to fit over both the new ORG risers, and the older gully traps by adding the appropriate manifold.
The LPL is cement welded in place, if going onto the ORG. Or an adaptor and associated plumbing pipes are sealed with an epoxy mortar to make everything watertight.
The LPL is like a one-way valve allowing water to flow out of the sanitary sewer drainpipe, but not allowing it to get in.
A vent cap allows for air to circulate into and out of the LPL. Without ventilation the water would not flow. The ventilation also keeps the inside of the LPL dry and free from moisture, preventing the growth of mould and mildew caused by the evaporation of water from the gully trap which would be detrimental to the operation of the lid.
A floatation ball inside the vent cap will stop any water getting into the wastewater system when flooding occurs.
The EcoGuys Gully Trap Leak Proof Lid is expected to be available to market in July 2024.

The front of the manifold is tilted up 30˚ to allow enough clearance for the inlet pipes at the rear.
